Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh… that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. Ephesians 2:11-13 (NKJV)
God’s original plan, beginning in the garden of Eden, was for us to live a life of intimacy with God. He wanted to spend time with us because of His love for us. When Adam and Eve rebelled against God’s original plan, God created another plan to provide a path to intimacy with Him. He accomplished His plan through Jesus.
While God provided a way for us to have a close relationship with Him, it is up to us to accept His gift of salvation. We can continue to live a life of separation from God or embrace His love for us and ask for forgiveness for our sins. To learn about accepting God’s free gift of salvation, click here.
