Since God has shown us his great mercy, offer your lives as a living sacrifice to him. Your offering must be only for God and pleasing to him, which is the spiritual way for you to worship. Romans 12:1
We should offer our lives to God as a living sacrifice. The interesting thing about a living sacrifice is that it (you) has the ability to choose whether or not it will be sacrificed (or obey God when it’s not convenient). Think about that for a moment. God doesn’t force us to serve Him. God presents us with the choice to obey His Word (the bible) and receive the blessings that come from being obedient or we can choose to go our own way and try to figure out life on our own. Which path will you choose? Will you struggle to do things on your own or will you trust God? God extended His mercy (sparing us from the rightful consequence of sin) when He sent His Son Jesus to die for us. As a result, we should offer our lives as a living sacrifice to Him. We should choose to obey God even when we don’t understand the process, things are not going according to our plans, and even when it’s not convenient. God will bless you for obeying Him.
You will be blessed if you obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today. Deuteronomy 11:27 (NLT)
