We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps. Proverbs 16:9 (NLT)
It is important for us to make plans. We need to think about what our next steps should be, but we also need to be willing to let go of our plans and allow God to determine our steps. God may interrupt your plans to do something more important for His purposes. It could be caring for a sick loved one or helping a stranger in need. It could be demonstrating the love of God to a person who feels forgotten. Make your plans but keep on stepping in the path God has for you.
God, thank you for determining my steps. I make plans based on my limited knowledge of my future. You know my end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10). Help me to be open to when you change my plans so I can complete the work you have for me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
