We are Christ’s ambassadors. 2 Corinthians 5:20 (NLT)
An ambassador is an official representative of the foreign country they come from. They are able to negotiate on behalf of their home country. Ambassadors work as messengers and interpreters on a temporary mission. Everything the ambassador does is with the idea that their actions reflect back on who they are representing. Their words and actions are not just about them, but are representative of those that sent them.
The Bible calls us Christ’s ambassadors. We are to represent God’s kingdom on the earth. This world is not our home, but a temporary assignment from God. Our words and deeds in our workplace are a reflection of the one who sent us.
If we are only doing the minimum, it does not reflect that we are working for God instead of man. If we are not listening to our boss, we are not reflecting the importance of submitting to God’s authority. We are ambassadors called to reflect God to a world in need. Examine your life to determine what you are reflecting to others.
