We can easily blend into the world around us. We can listen to the inappropriate jokes. We can participate in the office gossip. We can watch the inappropriate movies or videos on social media. We can ignore situations when people are being treated unfairly. But there is a better way. We should be intentional about what we hear, say and do. We can walk away instead of participating in the office gossip session or even stand up for the person who is not there to defend themselves. We can be careful about what we watch and hear. We can decide in advance what our boundaries are prior to encountering situations that may be tempting. We can show the world we are different. Be intentional.
Prayer:
God, thank you for reminding me to be intentional instead of just letting anything into my heart and mind. Show me the areas where I need to be more aware so that I can live pleasing to you. Help me to take specific steps today to be more intentional in my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
