Racism Is a Sin Issue

Racism Is a Sin Issue

There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.  Galatians 3:28 (NIV)

Racism is not a skin issue – it’s a sin issue.  Based on that statement, who do you think benefits from sin?  Racism is an effective tool used by the enemy (satan) to drive a wedge between people.  The enemy understands that if people come together in unity having a central focus, amazing things can happen (see the verse below).

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV)

With this new realization, it’s important that we don’t allow ourselves to be lured into unwittingly assisting satan by having prejudice (prejudging or a preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience) against other people.  In the book of Galatians, the Bible tells us that we are all one in Christ.  Your ethnicity, cultural background or economic status doesn’t matter.  We are all viewed as one in Christ by God.

Take a moment to analyze yourself.  Have you been unwittingly lured by the enemy into having prejudiced thoughts or actions against a group of people in the past?  What can you do to change those behaviors?
