This Fall HC Youth is heading to Kalahari! This is going to be an amazing weekend retreat where we will have an engaging message series, high energy worship, huge games and small group times, all in one of the largest indoor waterparks in America! What are the dates for the WKND?

November 15th – November 17th

What age groups are allowed to come to the WKND?

The WKND is for students 6th – 12th grade in Fall 2019.

What is the cost for the WKND?

The WKND will cost just $165.  This includes transport, food, access to the waterpark and an event t-shirt.  There is a discount for individual families with 3 or more children.

How do I sign up?

Click the “Register”  button above.  Space is limited, so do not delay in signing up!  In addition, please complete the online “Permission Form” prior to the trip.

When do I have to sign up by?

Sign up for the WKND will be closed on November 3rd so our teams will have time to prepare for the food and logistics of the trip.

Are there any other forms to complete?

In addition to clicking the “Register” button and making your payment, please click the “Permission Form” button to complete the online permission form.  Permission forms must be completed for all attendees.

How are students being transported?

We will be taking charter buses to and from Kalahari.


When should I bring my student to leave for the retreat?

Please arrive to Heritage Church (Sterling Heights Campus) on Friday, November 15th at 4:30 PM to check-in, load luggage, etc.

When should I pick my student up?

We will return to Heritage Church (Sterling Heights Campus) at approximately 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 17th.

How much waterpark time will they get?

Over the weekend students will get ample time in the waterpark. We will have daily sessions, small group times and meal times, but students are also given a lot of free time!

Do they need extra money?

Students will need extra money for a food stop on the way home on Sunday. Outside of that there are tons of snack stands, shops, and activities that students can bring money for at Kalahari. They will NOT NEED money for access to the waterpark or general meals at the retreat.

Is this just a waterpark trip?

While the waterpark is obviously a HUGE part of this weekend, we are also going to have amazing opportunities for our students to connect with each other and with God. We will have a relevant message series, engaging worship, exciting games, and meaningful small group times aimed at helping students to take their next steps with Jesus.

What are the sleeping arrangements?

Students will be staying in suite style rooms of 12 at a 1 to 5 leader to student ratio.  Rooms will be separated by gender first, and then grade. You can let us know about roommate requests, but we cannot guarantee these requests will be met.

What do I do if there is an emergency while my child is at the WKND?

There will be an emergency phone number you can call and get in contact with your student.  This will go out in a final details email prior to the retreat.

Are there refunds?

Spots are refundable until October 13th. At that point, refunds will be available if your child’s spot is filled by another student.
