The Lord is a God of second chances. No matter what you have done, what you have been through or where you are in your life, He wants to give us another chance if we are willing to take it. The Prodigal Son, David and Saul, etc., are all people who have a redemption story and were given a second chance by God. David especially had many weaknesses as a king and he sinned against the Lord by committing murder and adultery. He came to the Lord and asked for forgiveness and was given a second chance. Because of this second chance the Lord gave him, David wrote many praises to the Lord that can be found in the book of Psalms.
If God was willing to give David a second chance, He is willing to give us a second chance! There is no sin too big that God cannot forgive – He is more than able. If we are willing to seek the Lord for forgiveness, He can and will forgive our sins and make us new. He wants to give us that second chance.
