Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. “Behold the proud, his soul is not upright in him; but the just shall live by his faith. Habakkuk 2:2-4 (NKJV)
An athlete sets a goal and then begins training. They make a plan to reach their goal. They train daily to stretch themselves to reach their goal. Some days training is hard and they want to give up, while other days come easy and they know they can make it. In both cases, they keep their eye on the goal.
Our faith is like a muscle. We acquire faith by hearing God’s Word (Romans 10:17). Next, we need to stretch it or it will be weak. We should be constantly seeking God for the next goal to set and keep stretching our faith. When God helps us set the goal, we know we can reach it. There are days that may be harder than others to believe we can reach our goal, but we need to keep stretching. Set a goal and stretch your faith.
