My friends, be glad, even if you have a lot of trouble. You know that you learn to endure by having your faith tested. But you must learn to endure everything, so that you will be completely mature and not lacking in anything. James 1:2-4 (CEV)
Think of faith like a muscle. It needs to be exercised to help it get stronger. Each trial or test we go through gives us a chance to exercise our faith. While it may be a painful process as we go through it, we will be stronger in the end. Others may not see the hard work, the pain we suffer, or the tears we cry as our faith is stretched, but they will see us as we grow stronger day by day. They will witness our growth as we mature and get to a point where we are not lacking in anything.
Prayer:
God, thank you for reminding me to be glad in trouble. I choose to continue to endure and exercise my faith during the hard times instead of giving up. I want to get to a place where I will mature completely. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
