Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 (NIV)
The struggles of life can cause us to feel weighed down. We get wrapped up in thinking about how things should have happened when things don’t go as expected. We think about how big the problems appear. We focus on how to fix whatever we are facing. If we aren’t thinking about how to change our future, we can get focused on how bad we think our past was. We beat ourselves up over our mistakes or focus on things that were done to us to cause our life not to turn out the way we think we deserve.
God calls us to a different path. He calls us to come to Him so we can rest. We can choose to focus on our problems or focus on God our problem solver. When we come to God, He reminds us He is bigger than our past and our problems. He knows what we need before we even ask (Matthew 6:8).
As we focus on God, we realize He is in control and can help us with whatever comes our way. Knowing God has everything worked out for us is a good reason to be at rest. Run to God today, focus on Him and enter into His rest.
