“The most important commandment is … you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.” Mark 12:29-30 (NLT)
We hope you are enjoying the Transformed 2.0 series. So, here is a question. How do you know which commands are the most important? The answer may surprise you.
Keeping God number one in your heart, soul, mind, and strength is the most important command. The words in Mark 12 (above) are from Jesus’ own mouth.
Jesus taught that loving God passionately (heart), with your will and determination (soul), with your thoughts (mind), and in your daily life and actions (strength), is the most important command.
The best way to fall in love with God is to get to know God. Sit in Bible teachings, read the Bible for yourself, and pray and talk to God. Don’t do all the talking though. God will show you the way you should go. God will speak to you through His Words in the Bible. God will give you slight nudges in your mind. A good friend of mine and friend of God once said, “You’ll know in your knower.” That means, down deep in your heart, you will know what God wants you to do.
Isn’t it comforting to know that we don’t experience life alone, without direction or guidance? God is right there with you when you love God with your heart, soul, mind and strength.
