“Be sorry for your sins and turn from them and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, and your sins will be forgiven. You will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Peter, Jesus’ Disciple. Acts 2:38 (NLT)
You are learning that God and Jesus are one. In addition to the Father and Son, there is a third part of the godhead, the Holy Spirit.
Before Jesus died, He taught that the Holy Spirit would come to all who believed. The Holy Spirit would bring comfort, understanding, peace, and help believers grow and live to be more like Jesus.
The Holy Spirit has the power of God: omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent. The Holy Spirit sustains us and even prays for us when we don’t have the words to pray for ourselves (Romans 8:26-27). How deeply meaningful is it to know that God through His Spirit is praying for you?
The Holy Spirit is like the wind. We can feel the wind but we cannot see it. Christians sense the presence of the Holy Spirit but the Spirit is invisible. When you’re tempted to make a wrong choice or bad decision, it’s the still small voice you sense guiding you otherwise…that’s the Holy Spirit.
