Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you. 1 Peter 1:3-4 (NIV)
For most people, hope is something they do, but the Bible talks about hope as something we can have.
Hope is the confident expectation that God is willing and able to fulfill His promises to us.
Jesus is God the Son. Jesus has the power to keep promises made to Christians who believe. Here are just a few promises: eternal life, forgiveness, to seek you and save you. God through Jesus’ birth, life, death and resurrection promised and fulfilled God’s plan for our salvation.
Jesus’ goal from birth at the first Christmas was to get to Easter (where He later died on the cross for our sins).
So what do you expect?
Do you expect God to keep His promises? Do you believe that Jesus’ birth at Christmas and His death at Easter preserved a heavenly inheritance for you? If not, why not?
We invite you to join us at Heritage Church this weekend as we explore the truth about Christmas.
If you do believe Jesus’ birth and death guarantees your inheritance in heaven, how will you praise God the Father? Who will you invite to Christmas services this weekend?
