The nations shall see your righteousness, and all the kings your glory, and you shall be called by a new name that the mouth of the Lord will give. Isaiah 62:2 (ESV)
Before we invite Jesus into our lives, we are separated from God because of our sins. The baggage from our past weighs us down and prevents us from fully becoming the person God intends for us to be. No matter how good we think we are, it is not enough on our own to earn the destiny God has planned for us.
God knows the destiny He wrote for us from the beginning and gently calls to us in order to help us reach that destiny. When we answer the call and accept Jesus, God changes our name to align with the destiny He originally had planned for us. It is up to us to follow God’s leading to fulfill the plans He has for us. A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, Loving favor rather than silver and gold. Proverbs 22:1 (NKJV)
