Why the Church?

Why the Church?

“God was in Christ, making peace between the world and himself. In Christ, God did not hold the world guilty of its sins. And he gave us this message of peace. So we have been sent to speak for Christ. It is as if God is calling to you through us. We speak for Christ when we beg you to be at peace with God.” 2 Corinthians 5:19-20 (NCV)

What does all the careful planning and effort come down to? The truth is that we all spend eternity somewhere and we, and God, want us to be with Him in heaven by being saved through faith in Jesus. We want to see people thrive in a godly life and leave their pasts behind them. We want the peace of God to flow throughout the world and bring the world closer to its perfect origins in creation. We are all engaged in the mission of God as both individuals and as a church. So, why the church? Because it makes an eternal difference, now and forever!

Pray: Lord, thank you for giving me the opportunity to follow you. Thank you for all the blessings in my life. Let me find ways to share them in the world and lead even more people into your loving presence. Help me to keep my peace in you and to share that peace with those around me. I may be one person, but lead me to the places where my impact can be magnified for your gain for this to make an eternal difference.
