But despite all the miraculous signs Jesus had done, most of the people still did not believe in him. . . . Many people did believe in him, however, including some of the Jewish leaders. But they wouldn’t admit it for fear that the Pharisees would expel them from the synagogue. For they loved human praise more than the praise of God. John 12:37, 42-46 (NLT)
You search the Scriptures, because you think you will find eternal life in them. The Scriptures tell about me, but you refuse to come to me for eternal life. I don’t care about human praise, but I do know that none of you love God. John 5:39-42 (CEV)
Today, there are many religions and many churches. God sent Jesus for relationship not religion. There are some who attend church who are fans of Jesus. They know about Jesus and believe the stories about Him, but there is a disconnect between believing and receiving Jesus as Savior. Being a fan isn’t enough. God calls us into a relationship with Him through Jesus Christ, His Son.
- What do you believe about Jesus?
- Have you accepted Jesus as your Savior?
- Have you accepted that Jesus died on the cross for your sins?
Pray: Dear God, I believe the stories about Jesus. I believe that Jesus was a good man and lived a perfect life. I believe that Jesus died on a cross and rose from the dead. God, help me to believe that Jesus died for my sins on that cross and help me to accept Jesus as my personal Savior. And one more thing God, please help me not to seek human praise more than the praise of God. Let this Easter be the most significant one for me and my family so far. Amen.
