So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” 2 Corinthians 5:20 (NLT)
An ambassador is an official representative of the foreign country they come from. They are able to negotiate on behalf of their home country. Ambassadors work as messengers and interpreters on a temporary mission.
The Bible calls us Christ’s ambassadors. We are to represent God’s kingdom on the earth. We are sent to deliver God’s message of love and forgiveness to a lost and dying world. This world is not our home, but a temporary assignment to win the lost to Christ.
Friends, this world is not your home, so don’t make yourselves cozy in it. Don’t indulge your ego at the expense of your soul. Live an exemplary life among the natives so that your actions will refute their prejudices. Then they’ll be won over to God’s side and be there to join in the celebration when he arrives. 1 Peter 2:11-12 (MSG)
