And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” 2 Corinthians 5:18-20 (NLT)
Reconcile is defined in the dictionary as restoring friendly relations between or causing to coexist in harmony. It is also to make or show to be compatible. God has given us all a job to do. He wants us to reconcile people to Him. He wants us to share the message of reconciliation. We are to tell people that God wants to have a friendly relationship with them. God wants us to cause others to coexist in harmony with Him. We are called to be ambassadors telling others of the goodness of God.
Prayer:
God, thank you that You gave us the gift of reconciliation. Show me today who I need to share the news of reconciliation with. Prepare them to hear the good news and give me the words to speak. Help me to be Your ambassador. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
