But make sure that in your hearts you honor Christ as Lord. Always be ready to give an answer to anyone who asks you about the hope you have. Be ready to give the reason for it. But do it gently and with respect. 1 Peter 3:15 (NIRV)
We live in a world filled with hurt and lost people. We are all filled with a God-shaped hole inside of us. We are seeking love that only God can provide. As Christians, we have access to the one that can help fill it. We can be someone who connects them to the one who created them. God calls us salt, light and a city on a hill (Matthew 5:13-16). When we encounter someone who needs help, we need to be ready with an answer for the hope we have. We can show them the love God has for them. We can tell them about the things God has brought us through. Be ready as people ask about the hope they see in you.
Prayer:
God, thank you for the hope you have brought to my life. Help me to be ready with my story of hope. Send someone across my path who is seeking hope. Continue to transform me into salt, light and to be a city on a hill. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
