None Equal

None Equal

The king talked with them, and he found none equal to Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah; so they entered the king’s service. Daniel 1:19 (NIV)

Daniel and his three friends grew up in the ways of God as passed through the generations by the Israelites. Everything they were taught was to keep them honoring the one true God. The way they treated people and the food they ate were all aligned with God’s laws. The Israelites were a people set apart by God and for God. Their lives and all they did demonstrated that they were different. Once they were captured and taken to Babylon, they were being trained to become like those who captured them. Daniel and his friends continued to live in the same ways they were raised in. When they king talked to him, he determined they were different from everyone else.

We can live in a way that reflects we are set apart for God also. We can mirror His character in the world. We can show His love and compassion. We can demonstrate His mercy. We can be the best at whatever God has us doing. When people look at us, they should think that there is none equal because of God’s work in our lives.

Prayer:
God, thank you for allowing me to reflect you in the world. Help me to be the best at everything I set my hand to for your glory. Show me the areas where I need to grow. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
