Beware of the Wrong Boat

Beware of the Wrong Boat

But Jonah ran away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish. He went down to Joppa, where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the Lord. Jonah 1:3 (NIV)

When God asks us to do something, we can choose to obey or not (although obedience will always yield the best results in our life). There will always be things in our path that could keep us from doing what God asks of us. We can find an excuse to not share our salvation story with the person God asks us to. We can determine our schedule is too busy to volunteer where God is asking us. We can believe our finances are too tight to sow seeds where God is leading us. But we can also willingly choose to do whatever God is calling us to do. Don’t get on the wrong boat.

Prayer:
God, thank you for guiding me in life. I want to get on the right boat and obey you. Help me to clearly know your direction for my life and to take the steps I need to follow you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
