A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones. Proverbs 17:22 (NKJV)
Humor is life’s shock absorber! Positive chemical changes occur in our brain when we laugh. Laughter is good for our heart and it increases endorphins, boosts the immune system, and helps the body recover faster. There’s evidence to support that laughter is good medicine.
Oftentimes people say “I’ll play when I feel better”. Truly, people would feel better if they would just play. If we go do fun things, we will start to feel like doing fun things.
For team leaders, incorporate fun activities with your teams. Fun builds camaraderie and boosts productivity. It is good to work hard and play hard in a positive way.
PRAY: Dear God – Help us not to take ourselves too seriously. Help us to stop and just have fun sometimes. Thank you for Your Word that reminds us that a happy heart does good like medicine. Help us to make fun a priority and live in the balance of work hard/play hard. Let us do everything to Your glory. In Jesus’ name. Amen
