Seek God’s Direction

Seek God’s Direction

The Lord is pleased when good men pray.  Proverbs 15:8 (GN)

Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity.  Proverbs 21:5 (NLT)

King Solomon was the wisest man who ever lived.  In 1 Kings 3, God appears to Solomon in a dream and tells him to ask for anything he wants.  Solomon asks for wisdom, and God gives him a “wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be” (1 Kings 3:12, NIV). Solomon’s wisdom has been preserved for us in the books of the Bible that he wrote, including Proverbs.  In his great God-given wisdom, Solomon points out that prayer, planning, and hard work lead to success.

The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results (James 5:16, NLT).  When we pray earnestly and listen to the Holy Spirit in the subtle ways He speaks to us, we can gain insight into God’s direction for our life.  The key to that direction is prayer.

Once we have insight on God’s direction, we can plan accordingly and begin the hard work that brings prosperity.  It’s a three-part plan guaranteed to bring about success!

Prayer: Dear Lord, I ask for your guidance and direction for my life.  Please help me to discern the path you are guiding me along, and please help me plan and work in accordance with your will.  Your plans are infinitely better than mine.  Help me to follow your plans and not my own.  Amen
