Choices

Choices

The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” Genesis 2:15-17 (NIV)

When God created us, he wanted to have a relationship with us. He put Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and gave them one instruction – not to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Adam and Eve had a choice to follow God’s instruction or not. They made their choice and the world lives with the consequences of that decision. Everyday, we have a similar choice. We can follow God’s way or go our own way. We can do what God has called us to do and become more like him, or we can continue in our own way and become more like the world around us. We all have choices. What choice will you make today?

Prayer: God, thank you for reminding me that life is full of choices. I choose to be more like you. Show me what changes I need to make today to be more like you. In Jesus name. Amen.
