Choosing Friends Wisely

Choosing Friends Wisely

Spend time with the wise and you will become wise, but the friends of fools will suffer. Proverbs 13:20 (NCV)

Have you ever heard the saying: “You are who you hang out with”? It is true, a lot of times we start to mimic the habits and sayings of our friends, sometimes without even noticing it. It is important that we choose our friends wisely. We want those who make good, godly, decisions so that we live our life the way that God made us to. We want friends that lead us closer to God, not lead us into temptation. Like Luke 6:39-40 says, the blind cannot lead the blind. We need to look for those that have wisdom and knowledge to lead us to the right way.

Next Steps
Are your friends helping you lead a godly life? Are you helping your friends grow closer to God? Start being that friend and looking for those friends that will help you be better. Some great ways to make friends are to strike up a conversation with the person sitting next to you at Church or to join a Growth Group.
