Come and See

Come and See

The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, “Come, follow me.” Philip was from Bethsaida, Andrew and Peter’s hometown. Philip went to look for Nathanael and told him, “We have found the very person Moses and the prophets wrote about! His name is Jesus, the son of Joseph from Nazareth.” “Nazareth!” exclaimed Nathanael. “Can anything good come from Nazareth?” “Come and see for yourself,” Philip replied. John 1:43-46 (NLT)

Have you ever experienced the excitement of a child who accomplished something for themselves for the first time? The can’t wait to show everyone what they did. They want to tell everyone about it so they can see it too.

The disciples were gathered the same way. Jesus began to encounter them and invited them to just come and see what He was all about. He knew that once they learned about Him, they would want to become more like Him since He was different than anyone they had ever seen before. We are encouraged to invite others to come and see for themselves. We only need to invite them to encounter the love of Jesus. Once they meet Him, He does all the rest. Invite everyone you know to come and see.
