And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there. I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. Acts 20:22-24 (NIV)
It is easy to do things for others when life is going smoothly. It is easy to love those who love us. But we also need to complete the task before us when things are not working out the way we want. No matter what is happening in our lives, we have been given an assignment to spread the good news of God’s grace to the world around us. We need to spend our lives completing the task before us.
Prayer:
God, thank you for your willingness to use me to share your grace with others. Show me who I need to share the good news of your grace with today. Give me to the boldness to share with them what they need to hear. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
