Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires. Psalm 37:4 (NLT)
Did you know that God delights in you and sings over you? Zephaniah 3:17 (NIV) says, “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” He loves you and takes great pleasure in spending time with you. He is not asking for you to change before He loves you. He loves you just the way you are.
If we take great pleasure in God, He will give us the desires of our heart. We will get to know Him and spend time with Him. He will transform our hearts so that our desires match the desires He has for us. Then He will give us the desires He wants for us. Take delight!
Prayer:
God, thank you that you love me just the way I am. Thank you that you want to spend time with me. Show me how to delight in you. Make the desires of my heart match the desires you have for me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
