Do What’s Right

“My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, Your Majesty.” The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den. And when Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound was found on him, because he had trusted in his God. Daniel 6:22-23 (NIV)

As we read in earlier posts this week, Daniel made the decision that he would obey God over everything else. Daniel’s decision to continue to serve God got him tossed into a lion’s den. At this point you may think the story of Daniel is over. The Bible tells us that not only did Daniel survive, but there were no wounds found on him when he was lifted out of the den. As a result of his obedience to God, he received protection from the trap created by his enemies. We can always trust God to protect us when we make the decision to do what is right. Notice, the verse below does not say that your enemies won’t create weapons to attack you. It says that those weapons (things designed to bring you down) will not work against you. Who can you share this message with today?

“No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the Lord. Isaiah 54:17 (NIV)
