Don’t Be Afraid

Don’t Be Afraid

An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. Luke 2:9-11 (NIV)

It is easy to be afraid when we are in an unfamiliar situation. We could be transitioning to a new job, have a new addition to the family or learn of an illness of a loved one. We don’t know what is going to happen next. We don’t know how things will all work out. We may not even know our next step.

But what we do know is that through it all we don’t have to be afraid. We do know of the good news that a Savior was born. We know the Messiah has come. We can rest in knowing that God knows how it will all turn out. We can put our faith in Him to work all things out for our good (Romans 8:28). Don’t be afraid, God has your future under control.

Prayer:
God, I thank you that you hold my future in your hands. I don’t have to be afraid because you are in control. Help me to trust you more with my life. In Jesus name. Amen.
