Don’t Copy

Don’t Copy

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2 (NLT)

Sometimes it seems easy to do what everyone else is doing.  We may move in and out of relationships just like those in the world.  We may spend time thinking only of ourselves instead of serving others.  We may listen to the joke about others instead of standing up for them.

God calls us to change the way we think.  He wants us to love God and love others (Mark 12:29-31).  He calls us to serve others (Matthew 23:11).  By allowing God to change the way we think, we will learn to know God’s will for our lives.  Don’t copy the ways of the world, but reflect the ways of God.

Prayer: God, I want to be a reflection of you in the world.  Help me to transform the way I think.  Teach me how to know your good, pleasing and perfect will for my life.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
