Don’t Harden Your Heart

Don’t Harden Your Heart

The Lord says, “Don’t harden your hearts as Israel did… in the wilderness. For there your ancestors tested and tried my patience, even though they saw everything I did. For forty years I was angry with them,… So in my anger I took an oath: ‘They will never enter my place of rest.’” Psalm 95:8-11 (NLT)

The Israelites had spent decades in slavery in Egypt. God sent Moses to Pharaoh to use him to set God’s people free. When the Israelites left Egypt, they took a vast amount of wealth with them. But in the wilderness, the Israelites spent all their time complaining about what they lacked. God sent them food in the wilderness, and they complained about it. God showed them the land He had promised them, and they complained about the current inhabitants. The Israelites that witnessed God’s ability to deliver them from slavery were not able to enter into their promise because of their attitude. Don’t let your attitude get in the way of what God has for you.
