God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us. Ephesians 3:20 (MSG)
In Matthew 13:53-58, the bible tells us that Jesus returned to his hometown of Nazareth. That chapter ends with an interesting statement:
And so he did only a few miracles there because of their unbelief. Matthew 13:58 (NLT)
Because they refused to believe in Him (and His power), Jesus only did a few miracles there. To be clear, Jesus has unlimited power, but His ability to use that unlimited power in their lives was restricted because of their unbelief.
What are you praying for in 2018? What are your goals for the new year? The bible tells us in Ephesians that God can do far more than we could ever imagine. But we short-circuit the ability of God to operate in our life when we have doubt and unbelief.
Make a decision in 2018 that you will believe God. No matter what challenges you encounter, choose to believe that God is able to do anything. When we believe in Him (Jesus) and His power, we invite God to work in us to accomplish His will.
As a final note, it’s not for us to always understand how it will be done (how the problem or issue will be resolved). That’s for God to handle. Your responsibility is to believe that He can, regardless of what you currently see.
