Encourage Others Spiritually

Encourage Others Spiritually

“One of the things I always pray for is the opportunity, God willing, to come at last to see you.  For I long to visit you so I can bring you some spiritual gift that will help you grow strong in the Lord.  When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours.”  Romans 1:10-12 (NLT)

We need each other to grow.  Each person is unique.  There has never been anyone just like you, and there never will be someone like you again.  You are a specialty crafted work of art, and your uniqueness can be a blessing to others.  You can encourage people with your unique gifts and unique perspective.  Likewise, others can encourage you with their gifts and perspective as well.

Paul longs to visit the Roman community so that he can encourage their spiritual growth.  Yet, even a spiritual powerhouse like Paul wants to be encouraged by the faith of other believers.  The community of God is a community, and a community is made up of many people.  Everyone brings value.  May we never forget it.

Prayer:  Dear Lord, thank you for making me.  Even when all I see are my faults, you see me as a beloved child.  Help me to see my own value and uniqueness, and bring those gifts you have so generously given me to others.  May I grow and help others grow in their spiritual journey, and may your loving hand guide all believers to a closer relationship with each other and with you.  Amen.
