Failure Is An Event

After removing Saul, he made David their king. God testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.’ Acts 13:22 (NIV)

The Bible calls David a man after God’s own heart. It was not because he was perfect, but because he was willing to do what God asked of him. Looking at David’s life we see that he made many mistakes, but through it all he still wanted to follow God’s purpose for his life. He was willing to ask for God’s forgiveness when he failed.

As we go through life, we will make mistakes. But God doesn’t see us as failures. He sees us through eyes of love like a caring father. He knew we would make mistakes and sent Jesus to pay for our mistakes. He sees that you are trying to do the right thing and wants to help lead and guide you in the plans He has for you. He sees your heart!

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Have no regard for his appearance or stature, because I haven’t selected him. God doesn’t look at things like humans do. Humans see only what is visible to the eyes, but the Lord sees into the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:17 (CEB)
