Think of the excitement you feel when you get something new that you really wanted, whether it is a new relationship or a new item you’ve been wanting to purchase for a while. If it is a new relationship, you can’t wait to spend time with the person. Thoughts of them fill your mind. You enjoy talking to each other and feel such joy just thinking about them.
We can have the same type of relationship with God. He calls us back to the place where we can’t wait to spend time with Him. He wants to be constantly on our hearts and minds. It’s time to go back to our first love.
Prayer: God, I want to go back to my first love. I repent of forsaking the love that I had. I choose to do the things I did at first. Show me what I need to change to rekindle my first love for you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
