As children, we needed to follow rules to keep us safe. We were still learning to navigate the world around us. As we grew in age, we also grew in maturity. As we displayed our maturity, our parents would give us more freedom. God’s desire is to grant us the same type of freedom in life. As we become more like Him, we have more freedom in our lives. Our maturity in Him shows that He can trust us. It shows we want to live a life that brings Him glory. It shows we are willing to change our ways when we make a mistake. Following God’s plan allows us to live a life of freedom.
Prayer: God, thank you for helping me be more like you. I want to live a life that brings you glory and enjoy freedom in you. Show me the areas where I need to mature and become more like you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
