I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along. He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord. Oh, the joys of those who trust the Lord, who have no confidence in the proud or in those who worship idols. Psalms 40:1-4 (NLT)
We all have things in our lives that have gone wrong. We may have been mistreated by others. Some have been physically, verbally or mentally abused. Some of us have addictions we overcame in the past or are still struggling with today. No matter what has gone wrong in the past, God hears us when we call for Him. When we cry out to God in our pain and suffering, He will hear us. While He may not remove the circumstances from our past, He can help us heal from them. He can help us overcome the hurts we suffered through. He can turn those hurts into things we can use to help others.
Prayer:
God, thank you that you hear me when I call out to you. Thank you that you can turn pain from my past into something that can help others. Send someone across my path today that I can help. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
