Gratitude turns whatever we have into enough. Gratitude keeps us content. This is not to say we should not accomplish more, have more, or do more. It’s simply about not chasing what we don’t have.
Enjoy what you have rather than desiring what you don’t have. Just dreaming about nice things is meaningless—like chasing the wind. Ecclesiastes 6:9 (NLT)
It’s not happy people who are grateful; it’s grateful people who are happy. Happy people enjoy what they have. An attitude of gratitude is a choice. Contentment in Christ will satisfy what having stuff will never satisfy.
PRAY: Dear God, In every circumstance, please give me the strength to be content. I live in a society that skews my life toward wanting more, doing more, and having more. Help me to enjoy what I have, not thinking about what I don’t have. Lord, these are issues of my heart. Help me to manage my heart and align it with Yours. I need Your help dear God, to have an attitude of gratitude. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
