We live in an extraordinary country. We have many blessings and opportunities. It is easy to believe we are self-made people. But the truth is, we are Not! At best, we have leveraged what God has given us. We have benefited from opportunities, education, a sharp mind, a compassionate heart, intelligence, physical strength, or people connections.
The fact is all of these benefits are from God alone. We have the responsibility to work hard and use all that God has given us. God is a good and generous heavenly Father. He has a good plan for your life. He is at work in you and has poured good things into you. But don’t be fooled…it’s all from Him.
Every time you don’t turn your blessings into praise, you turn them into pride.
Praise God for the gifts, opportunities, talents. Not praising God eventually leads to pride. Pride pushes God away and leads to an empty self-centered life.
When God’s our source, we honor and praise God. As long as we live we will be fully satisfied.
I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you. Psalm 63:4-5 (NIV)
RECOMMIT to give God thanks, credit, glory and praise for every good gift, blessing, or opportunity in your life.
