Keep Your Guard Up

Keep Your Guard Up

As in water face reflects face, so a man’s heart reveals the man. Proverbs 27:19 (NKJV)

The heart is considered a reflection of the core of a person. It drives the direction of our life and how we interact with the world around us. If you want to perform a check up on your heart, just listen to how you speak (Luke 6:45). Our words show if we are full of faith or doubt; joy or bitterness; love or hate. Our heart condition helps us keep our life on track or can warn us when we are about to fall off the tracks.

It is easy to protect our physical bodies. We dress for the weather and watch out when crossing the street. Protecting our heart doesn’t seem to come as naturally, but we can develop habits to protect this precious gift. Are the places you spend your time opening you up to temptation or helping keep your heart safe? Are the television shows you watch and the material you read helping you or hurting you? Are your friendships encouraging your Christian walk or leading you down a path away from God? Fortunately, you don’t have to do this alone. God provided a way to help lead and guide you that begins with the step of His salvation. If you want learn more about salvation through Jesus, click here.

Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. Proverbs 4:23 (NLT)
