By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. John 13:35 (NIV)
Imagine yourself at a party with Jesus in attendance. Everyone is talking and having fun. Jesus is healing the sick around him. All of a sudden, the roof of the house is opened up and a gurney is lowered from the opening. Four men loved their sick friend enough to do whatever it took to secure a healing for their friend (Mark 2:1-12). Their faith was rewarded and the man was healed.
Our love for one another in the body of Christ will send a message to the world in need of love. We can show them the love that was shown to us. God loved us enough to send His Son to die in our place. He loves us enough to weave the detailed tapestry of our destiny into a beautiful work of art. When we show the love of God to others, they can’t help but to want to be a part of it. The love that makes us feel unworthy of such love, but grateful He loves us just the same. A love that will make us do whatever it takes to take care of others.
Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:29-31 (NKJV)
