“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34-35 (NIV)
It is easy to blend into the world around us. We could go along with the crowd or we could keep our thoughts and feelings to ourselves. But that is not what God has called us to be. He calls us to stand out. He wants us to be known by others. He wants us to show His love to those around us. We can show God’s love by helping those in need. We can show God’s love by being a listening ear for a hurting friend. We can show God’s love by sharing an encouraging word with someone who is feeling down. We are called to be known by our love for others.
Prayer: God, thank you that you love me. Help me to show your love to others. Show me who I need to show your love to today. I want to be known as your disciple by the love I show others. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
