Lead the Way

Lead the Way

“I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes…” Romans 1:16 (NIV)

It’s very tempting to be quiet about our faith these days.  People judge Christians, ridicule them, and some don’t take faith in general seriously.  We need to stand up against those thoughts.  We are Christians (or little examples of Christ) and we need to share what we know about Jesus.

Pastor Jeff shared last week about what Jesus did for all mankind.  Jesus paid the price of sin by dying on the cross.  Jesus died for everyone, for all sins, for all time.  This is incredible news and it can’t be quieted or kept secret.  You may be the only person who ever talks with someone about Jesus.  You could lead someone to Christ and into eternity with God.

Remember, God created people for His pleasure.  God sent Jesus for our salvation so we could be with God in heaven.  Who could be in heaven because of you?  Worse, who will not be in heaven because of you?   Christians must lead the way.  Follow Jesus, He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life…no one comes to the Father but through Jesus.

Consider this:  Who do you know who doesn’t know Jesus.  Will you pray for that person to know Christ?  Will you pray that God will use you despite your fears or reservation?

Pray now:  Dear Lord, You want me to lead people to Jesus.  In the Bible we read that we are to spread the gospel (good news of Jesus Christ).  Lord, you know my weaknesses.  You know the people that I know.  You know what I fear most about sharing the gospel.  Help me overcome my fear.  Give me the courage and words to share the hope I have in Christ with those who don’t know you.  And Lord, please give them the heart and mind to begin believing when I step up and share Jesus.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
