If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Romans 12:18 (NIV)
Our goal should be to live at peace with everyone, but this can sometimes be difficult. So, how do we practically live at peace with others? The verse above gives a very interesting clue. It says, “as far as it depends on you.” Notice it does not say, “as far as it depends on them.” If you want to be peaceful with others, the focus should be on your actions, not theirs. Peace directly stems from what you choose to do or what you choose to avoid (such as bad decisions). What can you do today (at home, work, school, etc.) to extend God’s love to others instead of starting the argument, being short-tempered, or losing your patience? Living at peace with everyone starts with you.
