We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. Romans 3:22-24 (NLT)
We live in a broken world. We are born with a sin nature. While we may never intend to sin, we have tendencies to sin. But God has a better plan for our life. Jesus died on the cross so that we could be made right with God. Jesus paid the price for us to have a relationship with God and spend eternity with Him. The change doesn’t come from anything we have done but is a result of what Jesus did on our behalf. Through him, we are made righteous.

God, thank you for the free gift of salvation. Send someone across my path today so I can share your good news with them. Give me the courage and words to speak your truth into their life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
