Managing Money

Managing Money

If you plan and work hard, you will have plenty; if you get in a hurry, you will end up poor. Proverbs 21:5 (CEV)

God wants us to be free from the bondage of poor money management so that we can live for His purpose in our lives.  Part of our freedom requires planning our spending.  Financial freedom is based on what you spend, not what you make.

The best tool for managing and tracking spending is a budget.  A budget tells your money where to go before you receive it so that you don’t wonder where it went later.  A budget also breaks the habit of impulsive buying.

One of the first steps to budgeting is to ask God to help you learn and grow and have self-discipline.  The next step is negotiating with your family.  Having the guidance of God and the support of family helps people to make the changes and find success in living on a budget.

Financial freedom takes character to plan and hard work.  God will lead you and build you in this important area of Christian living.

Pray:  Dear God, I want to live life free of financial bondage so that I can live out your purpose for me.   This is a critical area where I need your help.  Please guide me as I take steps to budget my spending which will develop my character.  Lord, I ask that you would provide family support so that I can honor you in my financial life.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
