Have you ever shopped for the perfect gift for someone? You spend time thinking about what they want or need. You take the time to shop for it, then you carefully wrap it. You couldn’t wait to see the look on their face when they opened it. You were excited to give them just what they were looking for. Helping those in need works the same way. We can see what they need and find a way to fill it. We can enjoy the good feeling of helping meet their needs. We can experience the blessing of giving.
Prayer:
God, thank you for reminding us that it’s more blessed to give than to receive. Send someone across my path today that I can bless. Help me to remember to look for ways to bless others. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
