Near and Far

Near and Far

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8 (NLT)

During a court trial, multiple witnesses explain their piece of the unfolding story. Bit by bit, each person tells what they saw and heard. Then all the pieces of the story are taken together to explain what really happened. We are witnesses to a bigger, worldwide story that has been unfolding since the beginning of time.

Stephen shares part of the story in Acts 7. But each of us brings a new perspective to the story. We each have a story of our own that adds to those who have experienced the love of God. We know what it is like to have been set free from sin and death – to be set on a path to experience the destiny God has in store for us. We need to be willing to share our story near and far. We need to be willing to allow God to send us where He wants us. Our story may be the one needed to touch the life of the person in the next cube, next door, in another state or country, etc. We never know who God intends for us to touch. We just have to be willing to tell our story near and far.
